In late February we were visited by Officer Ernie Light (left) and officer Bill Carpenter (center) of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC).

The officers stopped by to donate fish which had be seized from poachers and other offenders in recent months. The donations included snapper, which are loved by the pelicans, as well as lobster tails and grouper which are a favorite of our many shorebird species. These donations add much needed variety to the diet of our patients.

The officers of the FFWCC go out of their way to help us. If you ever have the opportunity, please thank them for the job they're doing.
